Hike to Edith Falls, Chaguaramas

The beautiful Edith Falls is another wonderfull chill spot located in Chaguaramas. It is a short, easy hike and is the perfect spot for an evening hike or a relaxing weekend adventure 🥰. I sometimes call this waterfall, Edith Trickle because it does not have much water (especially during the dry season) and it also does not have a pool at the base for bathing….it is more akin to an outside shower but I still it 💦.

The hike to Edith Falls is short but scenic🌲. You begin the trail on the grounds of Chaguaramas Golf Club🏌️‍♀️ 🏌️ and when you first begin the hike, you are greeted by beautiful arching bamboo which forms natural and beautiful entry way to the forest. This is something that you see a lot in the Chaguraramas area whether you are heading to Covigne Gorges or to the Plane Crash Site 🎍.

The trail is mostly clear and takes you alongside one of the golf course green and then into the forest where you encounter several bamboo patches and areas with many Balisier (Heliconia bihai) flowers 🌹 🥀 🌺 🌸. When you are very close to the waterfall, you will begin to walk along the river bed and you will have a few rocks that you need to climb (nothing too difficult however). The waterfall itself is about 250 feet tall but as I stated earlier, it is not one of those waterfalls like Rio Seco or Aripo Falls, that has a nice big pool at the base to swim, the base of this waterfall is the river bed and there is a small stream flowing at the bottom 💧.

The hike to Edith falls is an easy one overall and it is perfect for first time hikers, families and older folks. The walking distance is about 2km one way and it can take between 20 – 30 minutes to get to the falls falls from the start of the trail. It is a great spot to unwind while also getting in some exercise. It is a nice scenic, short hike that you can do whenever you are in the Chaguaramas area 🌞🦅 🦉🌳 🌴.
