Happy Saturday….. how are you going? I hope all is well with you and your family. Nationwide lock-downs in my country about a month ago has made me appreciate the outdoors and hiking even more π Now, let me introduce to you to my stomping ground during these Covid 19 times, the beautiful Covigne Gorges in Chaguaramasπ

Nestled in the Tucker Valley area, the hike through the gorges typically takes about 1 hr and is quite the adventure along the Cuesa River. It is one of the most scenic hikes as the bamboo provides arches which perfectly frame the trail at some points, in addition, the tall trees provide a perfect canopy and shelter from the hot sun or rain. During this hike you will walk alongside the river, through the gorges and also on the river bed. At one point, you will also use rope to scale one of the rocks (my favorite part π§ π§ββοΈ π§ββοΈ ).

Our final resting spot for this hike is at the base of a lovely pool. This pool, although small, is about 5 feet deep and is a great spot to bathe and relax. This hike is rated easy 2/7 and is suitable for kids 10 and over π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦

The trek to Covigne Gorges is a wonderful adventure and makes for a truly memorable day. Have you been here before? If not, you really should. The best time to go is very early morning as the water in the pool can get murky as more and more persons bathe in it.

PS. A little about me: I am hikeleader with Hikers United, a wonderful team of persons who enjoy hiking and the exploring the outdoors here on our twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Follow us on IG or FB π

Love the pics. Seems like an easy hike except for the rock climbing. Can you bypass that part?
