Ahh yes, for my second hike back out on the trails πI joined the Hikers United team as we headed to another one of those North Coast gems, Peechon Coveπ¦. I had not been to this spot since 2017π₯Ί, oh how the time fliesβΌοΈ I was so happy to visit here again and I am glad that we have added this hike back to our roster βΊοΈπ

The hike to Peechon / Pichon Cove π¦begins along the North Coast Road before the Maracas Look Out. The trail πstarts off narrow but widens as you get closer to the beach π. It takes approximately 50 minutes to get down to the beach from the road and it took us 1 hr 30 mins on our return journey. That uphill was a bit of a challenge for most of us so we took our time, taking water breaks as we headed back to the start of the trail. Out of ten, we gave this hike a difficulty rating of 5 / 10 (for reference, Paria is 7 / 10 on our scale).π₯Ύβ°οΈ

Peechon Cove is part of La Vache Bay line of beaches which also includes Negmaway Bay, Cyril Bay and Paragrant Bay. These beaches π are all before the famous Maracas Bay with the only caveat being, you have to hike to visit them βΊοΈ

What I love about Peechon π¦ Cove is the view of the beach when you are almost to the end of the trail? It is a great vantage point to see the beach below. There is also a waterfall on the other side which you can visit. Also, although the uphill trek is challenging, I love a good outdoor workout and this hike is perfect for that type of leg workout.

The water in Peechon Cove is not as calm as it is in Cyril Bay, however, we enjoyed bathing in it and some persons ventured into the caves at the western end of the beach. With regards to the hike itself, the trek back to the start of the trail is not as challenging as Paragrant Bay but you will feel it in your legs π«

Things to note about this hike βοΈ
- Wear insect repellant – there are many mosquitos on this trail and even if you do not think you are getting bitten, you will most likely be scratching your legs the next day π¦
- The hike back to the start of the trail is strenuous for most persons so take your time on your way back to your cars. Make sure you save some water for the trek back. π§
- Go with a group of persons and although it is an easy trail to find, having a guide who has been to this spot before is advised. Safety first π
Happy Hiking π
Be sure to join Hikers United on a hike sometime in 2025! π¦π

Much Love,
Celly
This beach looks lovely! I loved Maracas Beach but had no idea all these beaches were close by. Maybe I would’ve enjoyed them more as they are less ‘people-y’ lol. Happy to see you back on the trails!
