On a beautiful Sunday morning, after several rainy days in Tobago, the sun finally came out and my husband and I were able to explore our sweet sister isle of Tobago. We met up with our friend Kailey Chookolingo who took us to the idyllic Cotton Bay. I had never heard of this spot before, but I am always down for an adventure 😄.
Cotton Bay is a secluded, untouched, un-spoilt, hidden gem in Tobago (I guess because it can only be accessed by boat or with a short hike) 🌴. There is no infrastructure or shops on the beach like there is by Store Bay or Pigeon Point but it is surely one of the most stunningly beautiful beaches on the island. There are many lovely beaches 💦in Tobago but I think that this one should be added to my list of favourite spots in Tobago for sure.

Cotton Bay is located on the North-Western Coast of Tobago. The hiking trail started at King Peters Bay which is in the village of Moriah. As it had rained for several days before our hike and even at times during our hike 🌦, the trail was very slippery and we had to be very cautious in the very muddy patches. The hike was mostly flat, with the side of the mountain to one side and a slope down to the beach on the other. We took about 40 minutes to reach to Cotton Bay from King Peters bay. On the way back we also took a detour off the trail to a spot where you can see the beach from above. It was breathtaking 🥰. My husband and our friend ventured further up the trail for an even more spectacular view but that was a little bit too much for me. I stayed where I was 😳.

If I were to give a difficulty rating for this hike, I will give it a 3/10 if it a beautiful sunny 🌞 day and 4/10 in the rainy 🌧 season when the trail is more slippery.
Chances are you will not see anyone else at this beach when you visit. It will be your beach for the day, enjoy it and of course Do Not Leave Any Litter on the Beach.

If you want to go on this hike next time you are in Tobago be sure to contact our friend Kailey (you can message me for his cell number). You can also follow him and contact him on his social media accounts on TikTok and IG @naturetherapytt .

This time/October last year my husband and I were on vacation in Tobago. I love it! No hiking adventures though. We went to Bucco Reef, Lovers Bay/Pink Sand Beach in Charlotteville and Kings Beach (I think), but it was really nice.
