Hiking in Tobago? Part I – Rainbow Falls

Now don’t get me wrong. It is not that I thought there were no real hikes in Tobago apart from the hike to the gorgeous Argyle Waterfall. But, I just personally had never been hiking I’m Tobago 😮 although I have been visiting Tobago for more than 20+ years and have been there more times that I could count. So, I was very excited when on a hot sunny day, a couple days before Christmas we decided to set out to find the beautiful Rainbow Falls and Twin River Falls in Goodwood Tobago 😀

Prior to arriving in Tobago, we had done some research and found some clearish directions online. We drove to Goodwood about a 40 mins drive from Crown Point and turned off at Cow Farm Road. We then drove a further 15 mins taking a right at the National Energy Skills Centre (NESC) building and drove till we arrived at a quaint,  charming resort called Rainbow Nature Resort where we parked our car 😎

The very friendly owner was able to give us some directions to our first stop……..Rainbow Waterfall. She however warned us that there had been some heavy rain for the last two days and that there maybe some debris in the river. However, we have been hiking for a couple of years and that did not faze us. We started our trek excited to be embarking on this new adventure ❤

After one or two wrong turns, we eventually found the correct path and arrived at Rainbow falls after only 20 mins of walking along a flat river bed.

Rainbow Falls was stunning! 😉 A true gem for a photographer, the sun provided perfect lighting for the falls, the water was refreshing and cold but …. as the lady had stated, there was a lot of debris in the waterfall which made bathing impossible. So after taking some pictures we decided to head to check out another waterfall.

    1. Yes…..there is so much more to Tobago…I have done the usual drive around the island…also went to Argyle which is absolutely beautiful but this was my first time hiking in bago. Twas nice…🙏

  2. This looks so beautiful. We used to do a lot of hiking when I was little, seeing your posts makes me kind of want to take it up again. Plus, I need to visit Tobago one day.

    1. Yes take it up again. There are so many places outdoors to visit…whichever part of the world you are. That iz one of the reasons I love wordpress too…I love seeing people hiking in Japan or the US or Kenya or Canada 😎. And yes….you really need to visit Tobago soon…there is so much to do…and the beaches are amazing ❤🙏

      1. That is so true. I do have fond memories of our hiking days. And agree on WordPress. I’m in Finland, and even I as a city person can admire the beauty of nature. 🙂 Tobago is now officially on my bucket list. And you need to come to this part of the world, too. 🙂

      2. Finland has been on my list for a very long time. I hope to be back on that side of the world at some point…I want to see the Northern lights. 🙏

  4. Lucky you! We were planning to visit this stunning waterfall last September, but unfortunately we could not make it 🤦‍♀️ Heavy rain stopped us and we had to turn around and we did not have enought time to re-visit. But ww will be back one day 🙂

    1. Yes, it is beautiful. It must have been that same heavy rains that caused the tree to be brought down by the waterfall when we visited. Yes man, you will be back someday soon 🙂
